My first stage was a fireplace ledge. As a toddler, I would assemble family members to be my audience, stand on my “stage,” and perform improvised songs about puppies and rainbows. I started formal voice lessons when I turned 10 and later was accepted into the Regional Arts Vocal Program at Mayfield Secondary School. I completed my Bachelor of Music degree with honours at the University of Toronto in classical voice. While I love performing, my true passion is teaching, and I went on to complete a Master’s of Teaching degree at OISE to become an Ontario-certified teacher. I have taught hundreds of kids in public schools, theatre camps, and of course, in my own independent voice studio, and there is nothing more exhilarating to me than watching my students succeed and knowing I had a part in it! I believe that, whether your stage is in a theatre, a bandshell, or a fireplace ledge, your voice deserves to be heard.
